Blue-Blooded Fan

Alright, you Red-Blooded bigots, where is the option on the poll for some true diversity? There have been many times over our sports lifetime when BYU waxed mightily over the struggling Utes and just because Uteville dominated for a couple of years while the Cougs were in transition between a tired but great coach and finding a suitable replacement, you shouldn't feel so smug as to think you are so all powerful that you don't even need to consider the possibility that BYU will reign again. As a true blue BYU fan, I object!

This past week I had the opportunity to drive the BYU Team around a little and see their preparation for the Colorado State game. They are a great team not only on the field but in the way they handle themselves off the field. It was fun to see them when they were all loose and having fun the day before the game and then to see their concentration and focus on game day. I expect them to do well the rest of the season and would like to see a little respect. You can still root for your Utes and I would expect nothing less, but don't count BYU out. I predict a score of 34 to 16 for the mighty Cougs!!!

By the way I also got to eat with the team which in and of itself was a revelation in gastronomical over-indulgence. They even gave me a very classy BYU hat which I wear proudly. Plus, I am likely going to do the same thing for this week's game against TCU.
Lovingly, Dad

Ooooohhhhhh. Grandpa!!!!! The stage is set for Nov. 24th (for some) in Austin. I think I'm feeling skinny about that scenerio. I try to look at it as family fun and a time to "enjoy" being together. Anyway, I think this blog thing is a great idea. Jared, I have some information from experience to share about the dentist "trip". Russell, we would all love to hear the details about Florida-- the games and outcome, the beach, the chauffeuring, etc. Fill us in. Steve, tell everyone about yourAfrican humanitarian project on Nov. 16th. I think that is very noteworthy and you can get the details of it straight. Bryan, whazz up with you? Same with Brett. Those pictures of cowboy Jesse were darling. Post those for everyone to see. So Dad is waiting for me to run some errands right now so we are off. Lots of love, MOM P.S. Stay tuned for some great Alaskan shots coming soon to a blog near you.

Umm. This page is making me crave Guacomole. Flordia was pretty fun. There was 16 teams from around the country and even Canada. We lost our first "group play" game by 2 pts (only because our bus got us to the gym 3 minutes before tip off) after that we smoke every team by 20 pts. So i think we went 5-1 and 3-0 in the tourny. It was pretty fun. I ended up renting a car so that we did not have to rely on the shuttles. (those darn bus drivers....you cant ever rely on them!!!=)) Our school eneded up winning in a lot of the sports and we took home the overall trophy. So we are the NATIONAL CHAMPS*********of chiropractic =(. We only made it to the beach for a total of 3 hours. It was nice and the water was really warm. It would be a great place to take megan and mckenzie someday.Maybe Megan can come with me next year and grandma and grandpa can come watch mckenzie????? School is going good. This trimester is very busy and the classes are very demanding. Plus with the extra games we have been playing it has made it even that much harder to stay on top of things. Tomorrow we play Texas Weselyn University. They won the NAIA divsion 2 years ago and will probably be our toughest game of the year. We beat their JV team this year by 6 and that was about all we could handle. So it could be interesting tomorrow. Anyways, got to get back to class. I'll write later. We have some cute pics of mckenzie that i will post if i can figure it out.
Love, Russ

Dad, coming on strong with the BYU smack. Nice. Too bad it is all for nought as the Utes will be riding a 7 game win streak and can expose BYU weakside offensive line. Anyone is welcome to post their own opinion poll. But, you'll just have to figure it out, won't you. Until then....Go Utes!!!

I now know why Dad has because so vocal in his defense of the Blue and White. It has very little to do with the success of the football team. But rather, it has everything to do with how much food he is receive on their ticket. They have bought his loyalties. Enjoy your free meal tonight, Dad.
